So flowers...??? These have been a long tome in the making. Lots of thinking. Probably too much. But I needed a change for a lot of reasons and I take small steps. So I guess that these flowers represent a whole lot of small steps added up and painted out all on one big panel. It was a real adventure for me to explore this...I think that I started getting to know each flower. Each little petal started to get a personality. Not sure that is the right way to explain it, but that is how I started to feel. And After getting to know them, was I able to paint them. An after starting to paint them is when They started to get a little more abstract and painterly. To truly get to know something you must paint it or render it somehow. Strange, beautiful, truthful things come from your hands and eyes. Apart, they see things so differently, seperately. Sigh;ines never coming close to one another. Also, maybe together they overlook things, but maybe they also pick up things that you never see by just thinking about them.Thinking yousee it all, but never feeling a thing until you realize you misssed it. that cooperative purgatory that happens between those body parts is somehow so pure, like a childs eyes or a feeling form the gut...distilling things down to a few parts that do the work and show the concentrated truth. Just one stroke or spray or line...how does that happen?
Well, I also think that the most successful work comes from knowing when to say "done"...And I have looked and talked too much...
